HISTORY / HOW BOB FIRST WENT TO EDINBURGH in 2008:
I used to be a Jockey and then I broke my back…
So I carved out a career tour managing rock bands around the world…

In 2007 I was touring with The Bloodhound Gang, they did not like the smoking ban and so
half way through a gig they declared that they were going outside for a cigarette. They thrust
me on to the stage, with the parting words to the audience of: “Please throw stuff at our Tour
Manager…” After a few gigs of dodging missiles I worked out how to entertain the rabble.
When the Bloodhound Gang came back they found us all having a good laugh (mostly at their
expense). From then on I increasingly got on stage with any band I was touring with…

Towards the end of 2007 I read the autobiography of the late Malcolm Hardee, I was
fascinated by his wayward background prior to comedy… So in the summer of 2008 I went to
Edinburgh Fringe… It went rather well and I have been back every year since…

ALTERNATIVE FRINGE @ THE HIVE:
In 2010 the bar take at The Hive during my show was equal to all the other shows during the day combined and so the venue asked me to bring in some of my wilder and more interesting comedy friends for 2011. We call them Alternative Fringe @ The Hive.

The line up at Laughing Horse @ The Hive this year includes:
6:15pm – Frank Sanazi – the beautifuclly wrong songbird
7:15pm – Bob Slayer – “Good natured bad behaviour from a very funny man…” Copstick, The Scotsman
8:15pm – Phil Kay – multi award winning Scotsman and one of the most experienced and unpredictably hilarious performers on the fringe
9:15pm – Kunt and The Gang – a cult superstar, do not miss and also do not be late – it will be packed!
Also throughout the day at the Hive: Devvo, Desiree Burch (SMUT), Jody Kamali, John Robertson, Tony Bournemouth (aka Jimbo), Ivan Steward, O’Farahan & Keith, Napi Lewis, Spring Day, Eric Hutton & Ben Elwood, Malcolm Hardee Comedy Debates

PRAISE FOR BOB SLAYER:
“I LOVED this show… good-natured bad behaviour by a very funny man who downs pints in a way that
makes Jim Jefferies look like Gyles Brandreth.” Kate Copstick in The Scotsman
“An act clearly more drunk than the audience… and enjoying every second of his time on stage…” Three Weeks
“Gobsmackingly anarchic… the pure unadulterated spirit of the true Fringe…” Whatsonstage
“Bob Slayer worked through his paying guests with amazing skill, incredibly rude comedy, outrageous
stories and scenes which left us emotionally scarred, yet in fits of laughter…” Three Weeks
“Go and see Fringe stalwart Stewart Lee, rising star Andrew Lawrence and exciting newcomer Bob
Slayer…” The Metro (Pick of The Fringe)
“This is what happens when real rock, comedy and a lot of drink mix together, and it should never be
any other way.” Three Weeks
“Full of energy and daring, eager to get amongst the audience…” The New Current
“Bob Slayer marched all over the line that should not be crossed like a drunken Henry Rollins with
tourettes…” Brighton Argus
“The Wild Man of Comedy, like Keith Moon” The Malcolm Hardee Awards (Nominee)
“Spontaneous, shocking and purile” Racing Post
“If you are clinically insane, and by that I mean that you wake up one morning and think that you are
